Eek! I can't think of a way to start my post. Hmmm...
ANYWAY, I'm in the middle of a good weekend. And it was a good week. Show choir started and I think we're going to do a good Christmas show. We're singing 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' with a 5o's theme and a medley that has a common theme but talks about 3 different holidays. It starts out with Hannukuh (sp?), then Kwanza, and then Christmas. The songs aren't actually specific songs from the holidays, but rather just from the culture and talking about what the holiday means. It's really cool, and we're going to split everyone up in to 3 dances. I'm in the Hannukuh dance.
Also, we started ensembles. For girls we're doing a song called 'Calypso Carol'. I'm either doing a solo or the descant at the end. For mixed we're singing 'Daddy looked a lot like Santa Claus'. It's usually a country song, but for a choral group it's a sort of 50's thing. It's kind of difficult but really fun.
On Thursday, our drama club got to go see the play at the high school. It's called 'On the Razzle'. It's SO funny! I'm seeing it again tonight. I'm also going to my friends birthday party tonight, but I can't stay for the whole thing since we're going to the play.
Today I auditioned for the musical 'Ragtime'. We learned a dance, and even though I don't have a lot of experience I picked up really quickly on the routine. Afterwards, some girls were called back. I'm not in the most advanced group (I didn't expect to) but obviously the directors think I'm a good dancer. I also tried out with a solo, 'I Dreamed a Dream' from Les Miserables. I did okay. Anyway, I have a call-back for tomorrow. I'm excited!

Sounds like you are a busy girl! I think that it is great that you are so interested in the arts! My memories of high school and middle school are definitely focused on band which I really miss. Have fun with all your dancing and singing. Oh and I love the Les Miserables soundtrack. My high school in Michigan was the first venue to put on that play outside of Broadway. Pretty cool right? Unfortunately for me that was the one year I was not in the pit. Poo. ;-) <3 Kerry
