Well, I had a pretty good New Years (we didn't do anything special; we just hung out). I relaxed until I had to go back to school on Thursday. I actually did have a pretty good day though. I'm already feeling pretty much back in the swing of things.
On Wednesday I went to a last minute rehearsal. It's for this Broadway Musical Review that our 'Ragtime' director is doing. We're doing songs from 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum', 'Les Miserables', 'Jekyll and Hyde', 'Beauty and the Beast', 'Hairspray', 'You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown', 'Mamma Mia', and 'Children of Eden'. It's next month, so we don't have much time to get it together, but we're doing really well.
Today I has my first rehearsal for a gospel choir that's performing on Martin Luther King day. We're wearing all black and singing about 4 songs, I think. That was pretty fun, but I have to learn the songs pretty quickly.
Next Wednesday is the meeting for the talent show at my school. I know so far that I'm singing 'I Dreamed a Dream' or 'On My Own' from Les Miserables as a solo, 'I Still Believe' from Miss Saigon as a duet, and acting in a skit. I might do a five minute 'Seussical' thing, but I'm not really sure what's going on with that yet, and if our director will let me do five things then I'll be in a jazz dance too.
Next month is solo & ensemble contest. I've had my solo and my duet down since May, so I'm good on that. I'll also be in the girls ensemble and the mixed ensemble.
Last night I went to see 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' with nine people, and then we all had a sleepover (minus three of the people at the movie; they couldn't come). The movie was actually a lot better than I thought it would be (I thought it would completely suck). The sleepover was really fun too.

AHHHHH VICTORY!!! I made a comment before anyone else :-) I am glad you had a good new year. We just hung up at home with friends. Unfortunately we did not break out the Disney charades, but you can't have everything. I have to go back to school this Tuesday which is stinky because I like being on vacation. Oh well. I just used one of my christmas giftcards to buy Hello Dolly with Babara Streisand, which is a movie I highly recommend if you have never seen it. Anywho have fun being back at school and make sure to update often ;-)

I'm thinking about renting an apartment in New York City so I'll be ready when you hit it big time on Broadway! You're doing so many different musical numbers I'm surprised you can keep them straight!
We loved your Christmas visit and have missed you since you left.
Mimi & I both send our love.
