Rehearsals, rehearsals, and more rehearsals!

Sorry for missing a post this weekend (and probably some other times too...) but I've been so busy! We're still rehearsing for Showcase. The songs I'm in for that is 'Comedy Tonight', 'At the End of the Day', 'Belle' (a couple of solos), 'Human Again' (Mrs. Potts), 'Honey, Honey' (just as a background singer/dancer), 'Dancing Queen' (trio I think), 'Nicest Kids in Town', 'Run and Tell That' (I think I'm in that...), and I have this soloish thing in the song 'In the Beginning' which is the finale of our show and of the musical 'Children of Eden'. Also, in the song 'The Kite' from 'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown' I have a short little line in the end as Lucy. We're also supposed to do a tap dance to the blanket song from 'Charlie Brown', but I'm not sure if we're still doing that. The show is really coming along great. I've also had gospel choir, which is performing next Monday! Rehearsals for the talent show have started. I'm in five different things; I'm going to have a solo, a duet, a monologue or skit, a group jazz dance, and finally, there's this 5 (or so) minute medley thing of 'Seussical'. We're singing 'Oh the Thinks you can Think', 'A Day for the Cat in the Hat', 'Alone in the Universe', 'Amazing Mayzie', 'Notice me Horton', 'Solla Salew' (however you spell that), 'It's Possible', and 'Green Eggs and Ham'. Now we've auditioned for parts, and I got the lead! That's right, I'm playing the Cat in the Hat! It's pretty sweet. So, I'm really excited for the talent show, especially the 'Seussical' thing. The theater company that I'm in that was doing 'Ragtime' switched to a play called 'Romeo You Idiot'. I'm playing a minor role, but I'm told that I have some funny lines (gotta look that up in a minute). We're also starting to practice for solo & ensemble contest, which is next month. I'm singing an Italian solo, a duet that has the song 'Ave Maria' and 'I Believe' going at the same time (it's so pretty) and I'm in girls ensemble and mixed ensemble. Sorry if some of this stuff is repetitive, I can't remember what I've already said in previous posts! Anyway, happy January!
Oh, and besides all that, at church our 8th graders have just started doing conformation. I'm pretty excited about that! Not much to say yet, because we've only met once so far. I know that we're going on a retreat though, which should be fun.

Wow...I don't think that you have enough things to do, you should definitely get more involved ;-) That being said I am super excited to have a relative playing the cat in the hat which, if I do say so myself, one of the kookiest characters around. This makes him perfect for you because you are Kooky! (which in my world = super cool)Right now I currently trying to translate Jacques Cartier's accounts of finding Canada while dealing with a sinus infection, so once again your blog is my sunshine:-) At least I am not in class writing this...I actually paid attention today (shh it might ruin my image so don't tell anyone.) Much love and rounds of applause for the Musicale star
