- Language Arts: We did an acrostic poem about ourselves with our full names. It's pretty easy except it's sometimes a little difficult to think of the first word to start a phrase that goes with the letter... Then we did a few journals and stuff like that, and a couple days ago we started talking about Narrative writing. Over the weekend I have to write a rough draft for my paper.
- Math: Basically, we work really fast, taking lots of notes. We did a chapter review after 1 or 2 days, and we didn't get to practice the skills, so it was a little hard, but I did fine. We've taken 2 quizzes so far.
- Science: During class we take lots of notes and discuss what we're learning. Then we get worksheets or study guides, and our first test is in about a week, I think...
- Social Studies: The first day we were assigned a project. We had to make a poster board collage with pictures that had to do with us. I really liked the way mine turned out! But we also are making 5 minute presentations about ourselves. I have not done that yet, but it's easy so I'm not nervous. We've also done a little reading in a history magazine.
Those are my core classes. This quarter I'm also taking reading (I'll take it next quarter too, then take Spanish the next semester), art (2nd quarter-music, 3rd quarter-computers, 4th quarter-shop), and P.E. (next quarter I take health and go back to P.E. second semester).
A couple days ago, we had the Act 1 (drama club) meeting. We're doing 'You're a Good Man Charlie Brown'. I know I'll be in the cast, but I don't know about getting a role. I'm hoping to get Lucy, but since there's only 2 girl roles (except Snoopy can be a girl) so it's hard to tell. Choir is starting again next week, 4 days a week. I'm also restarting voice lessons next week, after a 2 week break. Dance starts next week or the one after, I'm not quite sure right now. I'm taking jazz, and possibly ballet. Besides that, I've been reading about 3 books a week and going to the movies with my friends on Fridays. Last week we saw 'No Reservations' and tonight we saw 'The Nanny Diaries'. They were both really great.

Goodness gracious you sound busy! I hope that you have a great school year and I think that it is awesome that you are taking shop ;-) Kerry
My golly, Miss Holly, looks like you're on the go every minute of the day. Don't forget to sleep once in a while! Please send us your notes for your five minute personal presentation---wish we could be in class to hear it.
Love to you from Mimi & Boppa
